Wooded residential streets. Urban convenience. A strong sense of community. These are the qualities that make Lake Claire one of Atlanta’s most desirable intown neighborhoods. Located east of Candler Park and just south of Druid Hills, this historic community of approximately 1200 homes dates back to 1915, deriving its name not from an actual lake, but from from the intersection of Lakeshore and Claire Drives around which the homes were built. Today, Lake Claire boasts a selection of beautiful homes in a variety of styles and sizes in a serene park-like setting just minutes from downtown Atlanta.

While Lake Claire Park provides a center of activity for the community—offering tennis courts, a playground and open fields for sports activities—the neighborhood offers plenty of green spaces throughout, with the residents actively engaged in preserving the neighborhood’s natural feel. Lake Claire also has an active neighborhood organization which meets monthly and plans community events throughout the year.  Along the western edge of the neighborhood (near McClendon Avenue and Clifton Road), you’ll find a few favorite restaurants like Gato, Fellini’s Pizza and Flying Biscuit Cafe, with plenty more shopping and dining to be found in nearby Little Five Points clustered along Moreland Avenue.

Students in Lake Claire are offered some of the finest public education in the state, with Mary Lin Elementary and Inman Middle School in particular ranking well above the state average. There are also several noteworthy private schools nearby, with Horizons School located on the southern edge of the neighborhood, and other great options like Paideia School located close by.

Originally a conglomerate of separate subdivisions, Lake Claire offers a diversity of home styles ranging from the historic to the modern, from Craftsman bungalows and Victorian homes to newer constructions. The median home value in this neighborhood sits near $500,000, with actual prices ranging generally between the high $300s to the mid-$800s depending on size and location.
